1) Overview
We deliberately designed estimato.work (the Scrum Poker application) to operate with a near-zero data footprint. This notice explains what information exists on your device, why it's needed, how cookies are used for ads, and what control you have.
2) What information exists on your device
The application works with a minimal set of data stored by your browser on your device:
- the username you choose (not tied to your real identity);
- the names and IDs of rooms you create or join;
- voting choices made within a room.
This information is saved locally in your browser's local storage and is not sent to our servers or to third-party servers.
3) Why this information is used
We use the locally stored data only to make the Scrum Poker features work:
- create and manage planning rooms;
- show your chosen username to participants in the same room;
- record and display votes within a room;
- compute and show voting statistics.
4) Storage, transfer, and retention
- All application data remains on the device where it was created.
- No application data is transmitted off-device.
- Data remains available until you clear your browser cache or local storage.
5) Room links
If you share a room link, it includes only the room ID. No personal or identifying data is embedded in the link.
6) Cookies and advertising (Google AdSense)
This site uses cookies to:
- remember your consent choices;
- show advertising via Google AdSense;
- improve your browsing experience.
Google AdSense may use cookies based on your previous visits to this or other websites. This enables Google and its partners to display ads related to your interests across the Internet. You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings.
7) Your choices and rights
You can:
- view the data directly on your device (it is stored in your browser);
- delete it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage/cache;
- use the application without providing personally identifiable information;
- opt out of personalized advertising as described above.
8) Changes to this notice
We may revise this notice from time to time. The effective date appears at the top ("Last updated"). Material changes will apply going forward from the date of publication.
